This is a second thread of pics from my trip to the Belgium GP. The first thread can be found here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=747466

I've had to process these on my laptop, so would be very interested in any observations about the colour accuracy of the pics. Unfortunately the screen is not great and is uncalibrated.

Very nice shots!

Minor correction though, the BMW is Nick Heidfeld's ....

I love #1 and #2....ok nevermind...all of them! how much processing did you have to do from the original camera image (if you don't mind sharing) and what program did you use?

I also hope to attend one (or more) of these in the near future!

Int2str - Thanks for the correction.

stangrider with regards to processing.

I'm using Photoshop CS3
All shots were originally captured in RAW
Openend in PS as neutrally as possible in the ProPhoto colourspace.
Recovery was tool necessary here and there (particularly on the Red Bull shot).
Applied a luminosity curve to increase the contrast
Shots with strong red content (except the Toyota one strangely) have had a +8 or so Red channel saturation boost.

Then saved as a PSD, resized, sharpened, added the border and uploaded.

Regards

John.

Nice series of shots. I love the stripped down Toyota... shows the simplicity and complexity of the car.

Nice shots!

The first few look oversaturated to me (hot reds and greens).

Great, my fav is the Glock car in prep. How did you get the pit photo pass to take the shots?

Great work!

The pit lane was open for a couple of hours on Thursday. It was extremely busy, but with a bit of patience and waiting for gaps to appear in the crowd, there were a few decent shots to be had.
