Very nice shots of my favorite bird. I found a place to buy shelled seconds in 50 pound bags and buy them that way now. In the shell, they just carry them off and bury them and probably never find them again. The shelled ones, they soon get over that and start to eat them right there, cause they know they are always out. :)

Thanks for the tip Mitch because i was starting to think this could get expensive since they don't stop till the container is empty. The blue jay is also a favorite of mine although i just really enjoy having birds come around the yard of course with the exception of the crackle!!!

I get a few Grackles here in the fall. Right now, I have one juvie that is just getting his adult feathers in and he has become quite tame. I talk to him out the window when he is on the lawn table. He's learned to eat peanuts, which are a little bit hard for his beak, but he takes them over to the bird bath and soaks them for a few minutes, then he can eat them. :)

I wouldn't mind the grackles if they would'nt use my swimming pool as a their toilet.

I would have no problem with one, but when they come they come in droves and its not uncommon to get 5 or 6 squabbling over the feeder at one time and chasing everything else off.
