DPR posted test images for the S90, and they include ISO images at 800, 1600, and 3200 ISO. They look a LOT better than I expected.

Yeah the high ISO all look quite usable! Not sure if its me or not but the noise from 400-1600 ISO doesnt seem to increase all that much and seems to vary on the lighting/photo.
On my G10 i try to keep iso below 400 and somtimes use 800 if i really have to! I barely ever touched ISO 1600 let alone 3200!

Have a look at the S90 samples on this site:

There is a clear drop after ISO 400

Oh yeah i know there is a drop in image quality but the noise looks noticeably better than the g10 and still useable at ISO1600 from the dpreview photos

I ran the Polish page through Google translator, and found their images came from a preproduction camera, while the DPR site used a production model.

I'm pretty impressed with the samples on DPR. From what I've seen, the high ISO samples rival if not beat my brother's aging 40D...and that's saying a lot.

The high ISO certainly looks better than from the G10.

The high iso looks mind blowingly good for a point and shoot. However the low iso detail is definately less than from the G10. I think it is a lens issue honestly. Detail in the center of the images (look at the outside one of our favorite subject, ducks)....lots of detail in the center, crisp. The edges...not so much...becomes a blurry mess :(.

Still, the overall IQ looks amazing at high iso, and good at low iso. Lets hope the G11 has a lens that is sharper though. I think though that this does show that if you have a G10 and shoot at low iso for landscapes, etc, you will want to hang onto it as you won't find a point and shoot that captures more detail for quite a while at this rate!

Considering the duck shot was at f/2.0, I can live with it.

Wonder if Canon is every going to ship this thing. Amazon canceled everyones pre-order, likely an automated processes because the backorder lasted more than 30 days. :(
