For shooting against the sun in that first one, i say that's pretty good! and the second one is good as well, even though the yellow thing on the right bottom is a little distracting, hey it's what you get at homecoming games! Well done!
Thanks. The yellow thing is the bench along side the football field. I wanted to move it but figured the coach would come kill me if I pulled his big bench off the sidelines while the game was going on.

Very cool shot with the sun behind them nicely done, the sky is awesome behind the queen and her court, nice shots.
Thanks. The sky was really nice about 10 minutes before this shot but was happy it had not totally gone away by the time of photos.

Well done Kevin. But I have a question... How the hell is it homecoming already? It seems like we just got our butts off the basketball court floor, and now already well into football? How many games have you guys played this season? My homecoming isn't for a month...
It's week 5 of our high school season. This was the first school to have homecoming. Most aren't for a couple of weeks.

Man, you have that fill flash working for you, don't you. Very nice.
Thanks. I better clarify so it does not mislead anyone. The cheerleader shot was done with two Elinchrom Rangers shot at almost full power with only a wide reflector on each. Probably more power and light than I would consider as normal fill. Without the lights they were basically full silhouettes. ISO 100 1/200 f/18. It was not a good time of day to try and shoot into the sun but this was our only place with a somewhat clean background and not having them staring directly into the blazing sun.
The queen shot was using one of the Rangers on a stand about 10' in the air with a really wide reflector to spread across their entire stage.
The Rangers are GREAT lights and really afford a ton of possibilities without the need for AC power.
