It is make by the Russian manufacturer Hartblei. And it built like a tank!!! There are adjustable models but they are like $50 more. This one has a fixed 8 degrees of tilt. However you can rotate it to what ever angle you want the plain of focus to be on. There are hard stops every 30 degrees. NO auto focus, NO aperture control. So it is all manual focus, and you have to do the DOF preview trick to hold the aperature when you remove the lens.

Now that I am typing this I realize I have not taken any pictures of the adapter it self. I am off to the Fair so I will upload a shot of the adapter as soon as I can. But here are 2 from the kitchen table. Taken with a 50 1.8. I forget the aperture... I think I set it at f/8.

Is this something that fits between your lens and the camera?

But the image circle of most lenses will not cover the sensor when tilted to much degree.

If you are using an EF lens on a crop camera I do not imagine this would be a problem. FF however it may truly be a concern

Reason true T/S lenses cost so much is that they have to be able to produce a much larger image circle. I'll have to see some exapmles from this "gimmick?"

Don't forget that as this is an extension tube the image circle is larger, but focus is short. I don't think the image circle size would be a problem, but limited focusing would be a bit of a pain after a while.

One option might be to use a medium format lens + tilt adapter..i've seen them somewhere..

The larger image circle would help substantially

I had owned 3 different medium format lenses and a tilt adapter. That combo works. Of course, I did say "had" = sold them.

The examples are not croped. With EF lens on a crop body there is no problems. But as said above, a FF body will most likly have a problem. When I mount my 28-75, the working distance is about 1-1.5 inches. The 50 is about 5 inches.

Useing it with the 50 with it tilted to shorten DOF
and at 1.8...there is NO dof!!! It it so thin I could not get even one shot that had anything useable.

That is the same as the one I have. Exceptional build quality! I think it out weighs the 50 by 3X.

Not to sound too cynical here, but what's the point of this contraption? Other than a tilted extension tube, why would you want to tilt your macro??

To put the little bit of DOF you do have where it will do the most good.

Isn't that what the focus ring does? I don't see how it's different.
