We took to the trail around Whistler, BC (the mountain itself) and I always like seeing the little critters that inhabitat the mountain side

#1 Rock Ptarmigans aka Snow Chickens aka Partridges - and yes related to Grouse

#2 Ninja Marmot - He watched us traverse some more technical aspects of the hike

#3 - Raven - I love these birds, they are much larger than crows and when they fly and flap their wings you can hear it. When they are above you, you can feel the downdraft from their wings (if they are close enough)

We also saw black bears, though only from the gondolas and my camera was never at the ready. I would still love to get photos of the various black/brown bears that call Whistler & Blackcomb home.

The other little critters we saw was what I think were a bunch of packrats. Squeaking and scurrying around us as we climbed up a scree field.
