Thanks Canon!
Just shout out to the awesome folks at Canon! When I volunteered for the Look3 Festival Of The Photograph here in Charlottesville this past June, I was assigned to the “Your Space Exhibit”. The Your Space exhibit was a large gallery space where Festival attendees could produce and display their own photographs with the printing generously donated by Canon USA (typically in a 16x20 format).
It was pretty exciting to see photographers from all over the world (both amateur and pro) bring in their image on a CD or USB stick, and get it printed and displayed for the first time. It was possibly one of the most satisfying experiences in my life. Longer story on “YourSpace” by NPR here if you are curious.

Never the less, I got to know the two Canon reps Felix and Barbara (pictured here) pretty well, and would regularly make coffee runs for them, and help with the printing and media queues. They were such nice people! I noticed that on the counter where folks would walk up and get something printed, they had some cool little 3x3 photo albums (you can see the packages in the foreground). I though these were really neat, and scribbled down the product name as I wanted to buy a kit when I got home.
Well at the end of the festival, Felix and Barbara were kind enough to give me a FREE photo album kit to take home! I have not touched it until today.
Since this weekend is our 12th wedding anniversary, and I am the luckiest guy in the world to be married to my best friend – I though it might be fun to break out the photo album and give it spin (which would be much more fun than the standard “Happy Anniversary” card).
Anyhow, you end up with a neat little book at the end – and I had a blast making it. Very simple process!
