A very common spider here in the Netherlands. Taken at 55mm.

HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

Good capture - lovely detail. Only criticism would be on composition/angle where the spider is rather central in the frame.

Yeah it's a bit cropped, since I wanted to get the spider in centre so you can see the details. Unfortunately my kit lens doesn't like close-ups/wannabe macros..

Considering the equipment you've used it's a good effort. You've got a good specimen and you've got his eyes sharp - the golden rule for any portrait. For me it's the background that could be improved - I prefer a more natural-looking one. Good work.
