I don't like to shoot animals in captivity, but since I never see a mountain lion in the wild, I did. This was shot through a fence. Focus almost eliminated the fence, but I had to clone a bit.

Stan -- that's one of the better mountain lions that i have seen. good job. they're very difficult to see in the wild here too.

My friend actually showed me a picture taken from a trail cam of a Moutain lion walking with a FULL SIZED whitetail buck in its mouth in the boonies of PA.

Thanks, Ed. I hear stories from people who have encountered them in the wild, and I've seen tracks, but so far...no luck.

Thanks, Steve. They are out there watching us, but we never see them.

This has to be a male, just due to size. A fine specimen, too. Thanks for looking.

They must be extremely strong and agile. Thanks for sharing that.

Oh my god its unbelievable how strong they are. Im not sure how people would feel about that picture being posted here as its pretty gruesome. But if anyone would like to see it ill try and have the picture emailed to me.

It's obvious to me that this is a zoo shot. My reasoning is that if I had a mountain lion looking at me like that and it wasn't in a cage, camera shake would have been my primary problem.

Clever reasoning, Joe. Thanks for sharing. (BTW, I have an old shot of a grizzly that suffers from camera shake.)
