Sep 21, 2009 15:47 | #8 Thanks for your comments all. The plant is an Australian native that goes by various names with the most common being grass tree, blackboys or yaccas. I have attached a couple of examples of the plant. They send up flower spikes annually but spike prolifically after fires. The second shot is a much more mature plant that has also seen a bushfire or two in it lifetime. Thay can be hundreds of years old. Trace
