Kudos for the Tamron Lens Warranty

About three years ago we picked up a Tamron 28-75 2.8 to have a nice mid-range zoom on our crop bodies and we liked that it could be a wider option on our 5D.

The lens has been rock solid and tack sharp ever since we purchased it. A few weddings ago, it began to behave oddly and then wouldn't auto-focus at all. We called Tamron and shipped it back to them. They replaced the "Aperture Assembly" and returned it to us absolutely free of charge.

Every now and then it is nice to deal with a company with a warrantly longer than Canon's one year standard!

Kudos to Tamron.

Very nice. This is one reason I've advocated people looking into the superzooms to take a hard look at the Tamron 18-270 VC (over the Canon and Sigma variants). It comes with 6 full years of coverage, and with a consumer grade stabilization unit in there, this is a tremendous perk. [Not to mention it's at least as good as the others optically.]

Anyway, nice story and it's good to hear about these things once in a while as opposed to the unending complaints.
