This SD600 was purchased 2 years ago. We never used is for that 2 years. Problems with my health. I use my SX10 but it had to returned for repairs last week, so I remembered the SD600. It was great because the menu's are close to the SX10 and I can use them quickly.
I took about 20 photos and the battery died. I did this 3 times. Then I purchased a new battery thinking the old battery's was old . This new battery also died, not as fast, about 40 photos.
Does anyone have the SD600, If so, any problems with the battery's and the cure.

I really don't want to send it to Canon if I don't have to. Any help would be great.

Batteries have limited shelf life & lifespan, as it is a constant chemcial reaction inside when being charged and being used.

so, my advise is to get a new set of batteries.

if the problem still persist. then I think there is a short in the camera. It may make economic sense to get a new camera, with more features and new warranty, than to repair the old camera.

I have a SD600. I got a spare battery at the same time. 35-40 or so sounds right to me and I have mine to always fire the flash. It is a small battery.

jr_senator,
this makes me happy that you get the same number of photos.
I thank you.
