I'm thinking of switching from Aperture to Lightroom, so I downloaded the LR 2.5 trial.

But LR is driving me nuts.
Right now I have a card with 3 different shoots on it.
The first two dates display correctly in the import window, but the last shows the current date, not the day the photos were taken.

Another card with just one shoo also show import date and not capture date.
After they are imported, they have have the current meta data, but the files are placed in the wrong folder.

Any help?

Can you try something dahl - copy them to the hard drive manually, and then try importing them, as see if LR shows the dates correctly in the import dialog then.

If it does, reformat the card (having imported and backed up, obviously....) and see if it happens again in the future. It could be that the card formatting is messed up.

Also, what camera were the files shot with?

Good tips, thank you.

I'll try and download them to my HD and see if it's the import route, that's messing things up. It will probably help to isolate the problem.

Also, I tried to import from the same card with different results.
Sometimes LR didn't see all the photos on the card, other times it would see one correct date and the incorrect "import date".

I'm still using a Canon XT on a Mac running 10.4.
