Cheapest to buy a 5D Mark II in New York

I'm Canadian and will be visiting New York for 8 days and would like to pick up a 5D Mark II while there. I'm looking for some advice for the cheapest place to buy one. I figure my options are to go to Adorama (BH is out of stock), but then I'll have to pay NY state tax. Amazon (shipped to my hotel) is out of stock, so that's not an option either.

I looked briefly at Bing, but another thread mentioned that it's not available to Canadian residents.

So...just wondering if anyone has any other experience buying in NY city either retail or online.

Try buydig.com, they have 5D Mark II in stock and they ship it pretty quickly from NJ.

Before ordering though I would call them to ask if they can ship it to a hotel to avoid any complications. Here's the link

If they are in NJ, I guess I would have to pay for state tax as well, right?

Have you looked on the Buy/Sell forums here or on FM. Maybe try arranging meeting someone to buy a low mileage one at a considerable savings?

No you don't have to pay the state tax,as they charge state tax to only items shipped within NJ. The reason being that they have a store/ warehouse in NJ.

BTW they are Canon authorized dealers .

OK, you rock! That's what I'm going to do then.

I just checked the Amazon website and even they charge state tax for items that ship to New York Sate.

Bugger. Buydig won't ship to hotels.

Try Canoga camera. But they are in California, so don't select the free shipping option. If I was in your situation I would pay $25 extra to get it shipped quickly. If you place an order with them place it before 2 pm EST so that they can ship it the same day.

Second option would be to check with Barry from Lensrental.com . He's a member here on POTN.

Third and last option would be to see Sell forums here and at FM forums.
