Certainly colourful.

There were actually several different kinds of equally colorful parrots in the same enclosure flying around, but these three were following eachother around on the ground so I was able to get nice and close!

Great shots. Rainbow Lorikeets are really beautiful. We have many birds in our collection but no Lorrys. They can be pretty good talkers.

Thanks, Nighthound! There were two or three different varieties in the walk-in exhibit, but these three Rainbow "Lorikeets" (thanks for the clarification) were just too cute...very animated personalities. When I first walked into the exhibit, these three were doing some kind of mating dance which was hysterical -- too bad the XSi doesn't have video capability!

You're very welcome. That sounds like a hoot. Parrots are really funny at times. Our Conures lay on their backs and play with toys using their feet. When they're young they even sleep on their backs. They get attached to their favorite people and will seek them out if they are out of their cages. I never know what might be incoming or walking my way if they're out.
