I am probably sending my camera into Canon to get service and was wonder what I could expect for turnaround time. Really, just wondering how long I can expect to be without it.

Thanks!

Less than two weeks, depending on the problem.

Sent my 40 and 24-105 in. Focus issues.. It was out the door and back to mine within 7 days on the dot. Sent it to the Jersey location. They are fairly quick I think.

Jersey location is very fast, within a week for mirror cleaning and focus adjustment on the body and long lens.

Obviously depends on where you are. Our European colleagues are less served, apparently.

Yeah, that's a solid answer.

Yeah, that's a solid answer.

Well, ten days, average, for my last three services. But the worst of my problems was the Mirror transport replacement in a 5D. As soon as you say ten days, for sure, someone will complain that it took 11 days. Tell people less than two weeks and their happy point stretches out a bit.

And nothing is ever certain and fixed. There were times, I understand, while the Canon 1D M3 was under recall that waits went over two weeks. Turn around service is pretty good, but we don't know why the OP is sending in a camera. Dropped in the ocean, chomped on by a shark--run over by a truck at a mud race--there could be complications versus a simple clean and calibrate.

I sent my 20D in USPS Priority Mail and Last week and got a confirmation of delivery from USPS last wednesday at the Jersey shop. I have received no email from them indicating that they have received it much less what it will cost to repair.

I have decided to take advantage of the customer loyalty program today and called the number on the tracking web site and they say I can't make a deal yet because my camera has not been put into the system yet by the Jersey shop. I plan on calling the Jersey shop in the morning to see what is up.

Did you go to the Canon web site for service and fill out the online forms before sending it in? They have a procedure to follow and always ask me to send it insured.

Well, sent in my camera under warranty. I think there is something wrong with my sensor...all my pictures come out looking like I shot them at 3200 ISO even when I shoot in 100 ISO. Very noisy and very unsharp. I'll let you know when I get it back. :D
