I am looking for an example of a portrait where the person is wearing a black short against a black background, where the only thing visible is the person's face and some hair highlights..
it is usually a black and white photo.
Can someone forward me a link?

I just did a quick google search and found several examples of what you are talking about just search for low key portrait in google images and I think you will find what you are looking for. also there is this discussion from the family and kids forum that might be helpful also some other links not sure what you are really after old man (external link) or young boy (external link)
