If you were asked for an idea to include 1 (feasible) feature into the next body what would it be? I don't mean clean ISO or 100fps, a new idea that isn't in any body yet, might be interesting to see some ideas where canon hasn't picked up on.
It can be anything, software, hardware, design, function etc...

My idea? I think built in storage for video files would be useful, send photo's to the card, and send video directly (and quickly) to the on board 32GB memory for instance.

How about you!

I want automatic AF micro adjustment.

You aim the camera towards some suitable target, then start the sequence.
The camera takes a photo, analyses it and approves its usefulness for AF micro adjustment.
Then the camera photographs itself through the different aperture settings available, with different AF micro adjustment settings, and compare itself the focus in the image with the different settings. Now when we have contrast focus in live view, this is simple.
In case you use a zoom lens, the camera will pause and ask you to set the focal length to something different when needed. Since the camera can read back the focal length, it will approve and continue if you set it correctly.

Thus we could get fully automatic AF adjustment for primes, and semi-automatic for zooms. Zooms could also store correction parameters for more than one focal length setting.

Focus point selection based on where your eye is looking. That way you don't have to fumble with that stupid joystick to select the right focus point.

True, but solid-state memory seems to have proven itself pretty reliable, I wouldn't dare think of putting a hard-drive in there :p

That doesn't qualify as a new idea. Neither does on board memory, since there have been compacts with that for ages. Tetris is perhaps new for a camera, but it's one thing I can live without. In a camera.

I don't imagine anyone is suggested removing the card slots, so if it breaks you can just keep using a card. I don't even need 32GB, just 1GB or even 512MB just in case I am stuck without a card. Seem rediculous given the cost of memory these days. My grocery store even sells 1GB keychain drives for $8 along with the tabloids and candy at the register now.

MP3 playing software and a headphone jack. Especially with more PJ style shooting when I'm not interacting with my subject, I like to have my mp3 player and headphones on to tune out outside noise and focus on the photography. Having software in the camera would mean one less thing (ipod or other machine) to fiddle with/bring on a shoot.

Built in radio trigger. Pocket Wizard compatibility would be a plus, obviously.

An Ethernet jack.

Plug the camera into your network and let your computer see it as network-attached storage. Move pictures off of it at network speeds instead of USB speeds. Perhaps this could be slightly less clunky than removing the CF card, putting it into a reader, etc. all the time.

There are issues with allowed frequencies in different countries, though.

Take the video out and concentrate on building better DSLR cameras instead of trying to be all things to all people.
I know its not "in the camera" but I'd love to see some parity in lens development between the regular EF lens line and the EF-S models. As a 1D series user the EF-S lenses are useless to me and its more than a bit disappointing to see the majority of new lens offerings being introduced as EF-S models only.
Yes, I know the market share of the cameras that can use the EF-S lenses is much larger but Canon does have a substantial pro base out there that use the EF lenses only, how about remembering them a little more often?

Airbags that deploy when the camera senses it is moving abruptly too fast, like it just got dropped!
