Let's open a thread for this overlooked lens.
This is the latest MM type.
Processed final shot and unprocessed 100% crop ( 5D2, f/8 ).

It looks kinda soft is this shot wide open @ f2.8?

I think people have been posting in the MF lens thread as this isn't an EOS lens...

It is f/8, tone-mapped, no sharpening.

You are correct, but I find one thread for each lens (even if adapted to EF) to be more useful for people looking for sample shots from a single lens model.

IMHO a new "Adapted Lens Sample Photo Archive" would be very useful to host threads like this.

My modest contribution, shot with a Rebel XTi:

Wide open:

f/4 or 5.6, with a CPL:

The 28 f/2.8 is simply a great "normal" lens for crop cameras. Perhaps not fast enough for indoor/low light, but a perfect walk around for outdoor shooting. Built like a tank (like all Zeiss lenses) and overall a great piece of workmanship.

Great shots! Wish I could afford a FF camera to utilize the full potential of this "under the radar"-lens.

Just to show that this lens works for subjects other than landscape/architectural shots (sorry for the cross-posting from the MF-thread, but as pointed out, it´s easier to have one thread for each lens):

100 % crop to showcase some of that Zeiss sharpness:

It's a very nice medium wide angle lens on full frame.
