The first cyclocross race of the season around here was held in Jackson Park, on Chicago's near south side. It was a flat course, no run ups, no place to shoulder the bike so this was the place to shoot in my eyes. Record turnout bodes well for this once oddball aspect of cycling. Dry on this day, rain forecast for next weekend! :D

Not meant to be insulting, but your watermark image takes a LOT away from the pictures. You should tone it down.

#2 and #3 look way overprocessed. Is that the intended look? The bokeh in #1 and #2 just doesn't look pleasing, ie not very "smooth." As for the watermark, maybe you can see how it looks semi-transparent? Your host is SmugMug, right? If SM watermarks your photos, setting transparency through the Pro control panel is easy.

Input appreciated. The watermark isn't really supposed to add anything to the picture. The riders can very easily get rid of the watermark by buying the photo, but if they wish to use the picture as is, in their blog or Facebook, then it's advertising for me. That's the idea isn't it? :) Yes, there was a lot of processing done. The barriers were in a very shady area. I'm not claiming these to be my 'best ever' photos, just sharing from the last race in this land of the football. You know? ;) More from this past weekend's racing soon.

Love number 2. I know he is jumping off/on the bike, but it looks so like he might be bailing. Gotta look into this sport and check it out in person. Good job.
