Hey all,

Haven't posted anything significant in a while.

I'm doing a longterm-ish project imitating the style of Richard Avedon. This past sunday, I put up a huge white seamless backdop next to the Musuem of Fine Arts in my town of Boston. I stopped random peopel and took portraits. It was fun. Anyways, I wanted to show you a scan of a film print I made today. Soon i'll be scanning the negatives instead of the prints for better quality. I shot this with the EOS 1V (oldschool!) and the 70-200 2.8L IS. No strobes.

I also shot a bunch in digital, but they can be seen here... www.scotteisenphoto.com/avedon/ (external link)

Anyways, here is the first film print.

Thanks. I know what you mean. I can't quite name what it is about it either!

WOW! Great Idea, I just saw some of hid work at the Grand Rapids Art Museum last winter. They had a huge showing of his work and it changed the way I look at portraits forever. This is definatly following in his style. Great job capturing her soul.

it's reflection of something. there are no strobes or anything as stated before. This was shot in "open-shade."

Thanks!

note: the weird white on the guys forhead is from a shadow on a above tree. the sun shifted and we started getting these funky results.
