LIBBYLOU - What do you use for post processing? With the 24-70 f/2.8L, I find that I usually have to bump up the clarity setting in CameraRaw (Adobe) to get the crispness that I desire. That lens does have a history of being slightly soft, at times.
As for the photos, watch that you are not tilting the camera when shooting the photo. I notice that a lot of your shots tend to lean to the left. Also, color temp seems to be a little funny on a few of the shots (especially #6 which looks EXTREMELY cold). Other than that, your composition and execution looks great.
It's a shame that you won't be shooting any more weddings. It is, indeed, a lot of work with a lot of planning that goes into it, even before arriving at the wedding. When I shoot weddings, I always have a checklist of the shots that I MUST get, that day, with a rundown of the schedule of the day. That way, I know where everybody is going to be at what time, allowing me to be where I need to be to catch the action (or to gather the parties for the formal portraits). A lot of work... you bet. Rewarding? Always! But, is wedding photography for everybody? NO WAY!!! =]
