I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. On the advice of all you good folks I have been focusing on using my camera strictly in (M)anual mode. However after reviewing my .pdf for the camera I don't see(I am sure I overlooked it) how to actually set the shutter speed on this camera? I have the original canon lens, a wide angle canon, and a 300mm telephoto for now. Learning the settings after reading a lot of internet suggested websites is starting to pay off. I now need to add the shutter speed into the mix...

I see where it shows the readout will be for shutter speed, not how to set it when I use the metering mode to adjust aperture?

Thanks!

Sirecat

Idk if this is what you're asking, but you set the shutter speed using the dial.

Turn the dial by the shutter button.

In order to adjust your aperture, press and hold the exposure compensation button while turning the same dial.

On the larger cameras it is. They have a separate wheel for the aperture on the back.
