I actually don't mind different or nonstandard positions of catchlights in the eyes. I'm a huge fan of cathchlights and with the Octabank, you'll never have pinpoint catchlights. ;)

I agree, and of course. :D

$1k is not bad for what the Octa brings. Though as pointed out there are cheaper alternatives. Guess I'm just lazy using the Octa.

+1

So many positives, indirect light is soft and even. But a real standout is it sets up in a minute. No rods to install.

Curious about the 5ft. "Creative Light" Octabox, at about $220 it's almost a steal.
I LOVE me some Rotalux but their lack of grids caused me to purchase a 1ft x 4ft strip with grid from Creative Light the other day and am suitably impressed.
The material feels on par with Elinchrom. The speed ring is not as fancy but the velcro-split around speed ring allows easy enough breakdown/set-up.

With the "Deep throat" am not really needing it right now but it's a poss. with ref. to others.

Quick shot with single Elinchrom Quadra and Creative Light 1x4 with grid (horiz. orientation);

the Creative Light 5ft Octabox looks nice. It's not indirect light and doesn't set up as quickly as the Octabank. But for $220 it is a steal. Are CL softboxes easy to set up?

btw- nice pic, great pp and gridded light does emphasize the beautiful model. Elinchrom would make alot of money if they would release grids for their softboxes.

Peter
CL softboxes are easy enough to set up/break down. They have velcro slits at rear so access to the rods/speedring is quite easy. They are not as easy as a Rotalux (but what is) but def. easy enough.
Construction seem's good, the rods are def. strong, speedring is nice, and light quality (most importantly ) is great.
Now if Elinchrom would get off their ass and...............Oh well, for now the CL is doing just fine.
