Does anyone know of a pan head, or base simmilar to the RRS PCL-1 http://reallyrightstuff.com/QR/03.html (external link)?

I'm using a tilt head, and would like to have the pan base, or another head under it to rotate it, but I really don't need the QR on the RRS one. Thanks.

Can't you just use a ball head instead? Greater freedom of movement ya?

I don't like em. I'd go with a 3 way pan and tilt head, but I hate the arms that stick out. I'm using a RRSs monopod tilt head and the pan clamp on top on my monopod and tripod right now. I have all the same movements, but in a smaller easier package. I'm tired of having to use the rotating center column on the tripod though to pan the whole thing though.

Ah. That makes sense now. I suppose you have an L plate if you wanna use your camera in portrait orientation, pointing up or down, without lens tripod collars?
