FWIW:
The September 28 issue of TV Guide has a photo of Jorja Fox of CSI holding a Rebel (can't make out the model) with a 18-55 IS kit lens and Ringlite. Lucky Rebel.
(Unfortunately, they use Nikons on the show.)
