Thanks

I like #3. It has the "best" light on the face. #2 looks a bit washed out on my monitor.

prefer the composition in three... though I would prefer the bush behind the animal disappear... lol

I think the three images are very close, but I would probably choose #3 also because of the better light on the face.

#3 without the bush would be perfect.

wow! thanks so much for the comments... I actually thought number 1 and 2 would be better as more water could be seen.. and also thought in 3, the giraffe was too low in the frame!

Although #3 shows the head/face best, the overall composition doesn't have the classic strength of #1 with it's positioning and reflections. I'd probably have tried to doctor it a little, maybe... somehow get the best aspects of #1 and #3 together.

Great shots, though!

Canon 500D, Sigma 18-250mm & no clue how to make the best of either, yet!

With some of the programs such as lightroom it is possible to "fix" the dark face of #1. I tried it and the detail is there to fix, with the original raw or jpg it should look natural if done properly. The dark face of #1 is the only reason I think #3 is best overall, otherwise with the face of #1 fixed I think it would be best.

my main reason why I am not too fond of number is 3 is because of its composition. I have tried to lighten the face of number 1. is this any better?

I don't like the tail in 3, so I chose 2 even though having the horizon in the middle bothers me a tiny bit.
I'd blend 1 and two, under the foreground from photo 1 and the rest from photo 2
