I'd probably have tried to doctor it a little, maybe... somehow get the best aspects of #1 and #3 together. Canon 500D, Sigma 18-250mm & no clue how to make the best of either, yet!

I tried it and the detail is there to fix, with the original raw or jpg it should look natural if done properly. The dark face of #1 is the only reason I think #3 is best overall, otherwise with the face of #1 fixed I think it would be best.
