Just a warning to all...On fox news, couple had pictures they took of they child in the bathtub, took them to Walmart to get developed. Walmart called police and they were charged with child pornography initially, after review judge and attorney appointed to represent children said they were only typical innocent photos any family might have, but, kids were taken away I believe while investigation was going on.

Here is a link to the story. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32904451/ (external link)

Just a warning to be careful.

I recently bought a negative scanner to preserve all those 25 year old images of my sons and 4 nephews. I quickly realized that all the nude shots might be considered child porn today and certainly would not take them to be processed anywhere like Walmart or Walgreens.

We had no girls and just did not think anything about letting the boys run around naked outdoors on our farm after playing with the hose.

It is such a sad commentary on our society that we have to consider what sickos are out there to turn our innocent pictures into something shameful.

I dont know, to me there has to be a little more to the story. If they were just OBVIOUSLY innocent childhood pictures, dont you think that somewhere in the line (from people at wal-mart -> the police -> CPS) that someone would speak up if they were so obvious? I just think there may be a little more is all im saying.

The smartass in me would have charged them for shopping at Malwart in the first place

Makes me realize the cost of owning my own printer and supplies is worth it.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

its amazing how innocent pictures can do this. Like the Soldier whom had pictures sent to him from his mom of his neice, she was in a bathingsuit, and the Army is making him stay overseas awaiting a court marshall, when he should have already been home....Never knew taking pictures of your kids in swimsuits out in public and sending to loved ones was against the law!!

Did TX enact an anti-printer-ownership law since I left??

You know, you could take them digitally and then take them to a CVS store where they are printed straight from the printer. Then no one ever sees them.. What kind of family uses film cameras any more? Only people I know that still use film are the serious photographers who love the advantages.
