I did...

Have been looking for my CF-cards all evening last night, didn't succeed. Now I know why: I washed them with my dark laundry.

36 GB CF-cards,
Cardreader,
USB cable.

I'll let all of it dry really well before even trying to use them again.

Anyone has got any similar experiences? Did your CF-cards and card reader survive?

Thanks!

I ran one through the wash, and dropped one in the ocean... they both survived!

Fingers crossed for you!

I have had one that got run through the washing machine and it worked fine after I let it dry out for a few days and it was certainly cleaner afterward

Did you have dirty pictures on it? Sorry, couldn't resist. I haven't managed to wash one yet, but I did once drop my old Motorola phone in a bucket of very dirty water and after drying it out it worked just fine for another year and a half.

I know it's a pretty well known remedy, but I highly suggest putting it in some rice or something that will naturally help draw the water out. I had a phone get wet, and let it dry for days and days, thinking it was just a little water inside, but for some reason it never got rid of all the water and when I tried to fire it up it shorted because a ton of water was still in there. Just a thought.

I'm pretty confident my CF-cards will be okay, thanks for your replies on that. I fear for my card reader, there's something loose in it. Makes some noise when I shake it, and it didn't do that before. So I think I'll order a new card reader and try my CF cards in a few days.

Nice one, will try that.

Great news: my card reader survived the accident! I'll be testing a few CF-cards in a moment... Will let you know later.
