I had to referee last night in the pouring rain. I am SO glad that it was an artificial turf field.

Great rain images

IMHO - If I'm going to be photographing in the rain I'd rather be on a grass / muddy field. If give the images character. I guess if I was officiating the speed turf is the way to go.

That would suck to play in that. Nice shots.

Great to play in!! Is the grass really that tall? Appears to be a very tall cut. Were they trying to slow the visiting team down?

Canon gear - Rebel Xti, 50mm 1.8, 100 mm 2.0, 430EX

Now if I could learn what to do with it!

The grass was tall. They had just mowed stripes down the yard lines on the field so you could see those , but that's it. My guess is that it was to wet to mow the whole thing because it had been raining all week.

I loved playing in the mud and love shooting muddy games, but hate officiating on them. I'm getting to old to be playing in the mud.

Great shots. Was not sure if the grass was tall or the pictures made it look that way. I did notice the shorter cuts for the yard lines.

Fantastic shots. Finally, football players who are dirty, this new turf stuff just takes that away and I hate it. This is good old school stuff here man and really speaks. Exposures look very very nice. My only "crit" would be to warm the last three slightly and your are money!
