I have no idea what kind of creature this little fellow is. He was hanging from a tree this evening. Anybody recognize him?

I assume he/she might have got caught in the web, or was trying to get free. I wouldn't think a creature such as this weaves webs. But I forgot to mention, that's a pretty sweet shot!

Yes, I think you are right. It must be an Assassin Bug. I will have to look it up. I have never seen one before. Thanks for the info. Great picture, too. Marci

Sep 27, 2009 11:07 | #12 Here is a Fact Sheet. Apparently the Wheel Bug can give a painful bite. Had I kept mowing and not noticed this guy, I would have run right into him, as I was on a riding lawn mower. Sure glad I noticed him in time to swerve out of his way. Marci
