Garden Spider was sitting pretty next to our handicap ramp at work....and wouldn't you know I didn't have my camera on me...so I debated about just bringing my camera in the next day and then decided to just run home on my lunch break and get it....and luckily I did because she was gone the next day....all are taken with my Sigma 105mm, hand held in ambient light...and adding to the level of difficulty was that the wind was blowing hard enough that the web and spider were moving quite a bit back and forth...also all are full size shots, no cropping at all

I haven't really gotten to do much shooting at all this year, macro or otherwise

oh and lengthwise this gal is around the length of a dollar bill(abdomen probably the size of a quarter or so)

It is a Writing Spider [Argiope aurantia]. I saw one last year. Much smaller than yours. But they do get big.

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

That looks like it was big enough to eat small birds and I though tarantulas were big. Very nice shots, I especially like the first one.
