I had a paid shoot up there this weekend and hiked down twice following my benefactor. Knees are dead. But - I took some shots of other riders as he would set up and just thought I'd share one:

Looks good Cos. I think another flash gun might have helped even more (something off to the right of the rider...his actual right hand side). I might have liked something with a little more motion blur too. Either more or none, this shakes out somewhere in between which isn't as compelling to me. He was flying off that lip but the image doesn't convey that as much as I'd like. It's not a slouch shot by any means, just offering some things that might be different. On a side note, I haven't been to Whistler in a few years and man do I miss that place. Did you ride at all?

+1 for missing Whistler. Beautiful place and great riding. Might be heading there this summer after visiting Alaska.

+2 for missing Whistler & +1 for heading back this summer. I agree with Namasste's additions.
Is that trail Dirt Merchant? It's hard to guess from this angle.

Dirt Merchant may be the most fun I have ever had on a bike. That big drop halfway down made me giggle like a little girl! Jealous of your return man, I don't even have it on the calendar right now.

Agreed, but I have mixed feelings about it. My favourite track on the mountain, but I encountered the biggest black bear at the trail head there one day.

I forget what trail it was in the first shot. But I'll never forget Clown Shoes:

A hike down WHistler is far better than a hike ANYWHERE around where I live.:D

I think 1 of 3 Aussies live in Whistler. No hyperbole.

Jason, that first shot made me laugh since I stood in that same spot and know pretty much what was going through his head. That's a scary drop for sure. I recall moving aside to let some guys hit it while I contemplated things (not a good idea in that situation, thinking too much first that is). While I stood there, I watched some due get worked so hard that I seriously thought he was done. Medics had to take him down. Just what you need when you are already feeling scared so I took the go around that time and didn't hit it until the next day and it was every bit as scary as I thought it might be.

To hike down to that point is no small effort either. I'd love to see more from the shoot if you are up to sharing.
