What bag are you planning on for your 7D

Anyone want to chime in on what bag they plan to use with the 7D?

Also, if I were shopping for bags, which camera would be the closest comparison size wise for bag purchasing options? 5DII?

I have 1 small lens, 1 small normal lens and 1 medium sized telephoto lens, as well as the coming 7D and my current 400D gripped. Not forgetting the 580EXII flash.

Usually people buy bags to accommodate their arsenal of lenses and not 'body specific'.

If it helps, though, I'm bagless for now. Only have three think tank lens pouches for 2 lenses and 1 flash on a steroid speed belt. Gonna get a bag soon.

Like Headshotzx said, the specific body isn't very important to the size of the bag. The only thing that will make a real difference is whether or not you plan to use a battery grip.

It will fit fine in any bag that can handle any other body in the same general size class, which includes either version of the 5D and anything from the xxD series. Also includes anything from other companies in the same class, such as a Nikon D300 or D700.

If you add a grip to any of the above they will be in the same size class as a Canon 1D or Nikon D3 and any of the above can use the same bag.

Had a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 40 and Digital Holster 30 when I first got the 7D but then upgraded to the Urban Disguise 70 and Digital Holster 50 to accommodate the grip I bought. Size-wise the 50D and the 5D are similar but most bags out there will fit these bodies. As said before it's when you have something like a 1D or add a grip that your selection of bags becomes much smaller. I found that out the hard (and expensive) way since I purchased the first set of bags without thinking about if I would be adding a grip sometime in the future.

If I carry one body it goes into the Billingham 207. If I am going to carry both they go into the Billingham 307.

Billingham 335 is not only my camera bag, but my man bag It goes everywhere, holds everything, stays dry for hours in the rain on my motorcycle while I ride, and looks classy. (Thanks Doc)

Really need to understand what lenses you are going to be hanging off that 7d before any bags can be recommended. Are you going to want to carry some telephotos, a big 85 1.2 or maybe a nice 17-40 zoom. Hard to give any advice without a complete picture of you situation.

i just purchase the dakine mission photo, which is great looking and simple, and fits everything I need.

I have a gripped 7D, 24-105, 70-200 f/4, 85, and a 430EX II which are all very similar in size to what you mentioned. They all fit in my ThinkTank Urban Disguise 70 with room left over for a couple more lenses or flashes. The grip on my 7D seriously shortened the list of what I could use but I really like the anonymous look of the ThinkTank products and they are well made.

I'm using the Lowepro flipside 400AW, its a very spacious bag that will fit lots of gear and very comfortable to wear and has a tripod strap also

I have that one as well and it accommodates a gripped body if you remove a little pad that an ungripped body rests on. I tend to only use it for outdoor activities though because, while the harness system is very comfortable, it can be a little cumbersome if you don't want to buckle everything up and just sling it over one shoulder. But I guess that is why there are so many bags that create the unending quest to find the "perfect" bag......everyone has different needs and preferences.

Hello 7D owners. Please welcome me. I just got the 7D today and I couldn't be happier. I tried the 5d2 for a little while. But the 7D is a better all around camera for me right now. Love it. But I need to replace a bag, so here I am.

The 7D replaced a t1i which was tiny. At this point, I need to replace a bag b/c the 7D is so much bigger. Bags bags bags, ughhh.

Since you guys are my new family, I'll share some bag 411 in case others are in the market for one.

My day bag: Lowepro CompuDaypack. I've tried to replace this bag 10 times and I always go back. Plenty of space for my 13"mbp. It could fit a 17" laptop. The camera portion, fits my 7D with 17-55. And a flash. There is a chance I can fit a nifty in there as well. The personal area is amazing. I can fit all sorts of items in it. And another lens or two in cases. Plenty of little pockets for card readers, thumb drives, pocket knife, etc. IMO it's the best day bag for folks who typically bring their laptop and camera (with not a lot of photo gear), but also some personal items, everywhere they go, like me! No weather protection though.
