Anyone want to chime in on what bag they plan to use with the 7D?
Also, if I were shopping for bags, which camera would be the closest comparison size wise for bag purchasing options? 5DII?

The only thing that will make a real difference is whether or not you plan to use a battery grip. -- Ken

Size-wise the 50D and the 5D are similar but most bags out there will fit these bodies. As said before it's when you have something like a 1D or add a grip that your selection of bags becomes much smaller. I found that out the hard (and expensive) way since I purchased the first set of bags without thinking about if I would be adding a grip sometime in the future. 5D4 w/BG-E20, 24-105 f/4L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, 35 f/1.4L, 85 f/1.8, 100 f/2.8L IS Macro, Sigma 50 f/1.4

Are you going to want to carry some telephotos, a big 85 1.2 or maybe a nice 17-40 zoom. Hard to give any advice without a complete picture of you situation.

Although I don't have many lenses, I'm looking for a bag to accommodate the lens/accessories I do plan on purchasing (24-70mm, 10-22mm, 70-200mm and a flash). This bag will just be used for travel or at events when I need everything. But for smaller type of events, I have an incase that fits my 7D and 2 lenses which is perfect for now. gear | flickr

I have a gripped 7D, 24-105, 70-200 f/4, 85, and a 430EX II which are all very similar in size to what you mentioned. They all fit in my ThinkTank Urban Disguise 70 with room left over for a couple more lenses or flashes. The grip on my 7D seriously shortened the list of what I could use but I really like the anonymous look of the ThinkTank products and they are well made. 5D4 w/BG-E20, 24-105 f/4L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, 35 f/1.4L, 85 f/1.8, 100 f/2.8L IS Macro, Sigma 50 f/1.4

I tend to only use it for outdoor activities though because, while the harness system is very comfortable, it can be a little cumbersome if you don't want to buckle everything up and just sling it over one shoulder. But I guess that is why there are so many bags that create the unending quest to find the "perfect" bag......everyone has different needs and preferences. 5D4 w/BG-E20, 24-105 f/4L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, 35 f/1.4L, 85 f/1.8, 100 f/2.8L IS Macro, Sigma 50 f/1.4

DjR Goldmember More info | Hello 7D owners. Please welcome me. I just got the 7D today and I couldn't be happier. I tried the 5d2 for a little while. But the 7D is a better all around camera for me right now. Love it. But I need to replace a bag, so here I am.
My other 4 bags: Domke F-803 with optional shoulder pad. This is the tan bag. This is my bag for carrying the slr with the 17-55 attached and a flash and a nifty. or super wide angle. It is so much smaller than a 5 or 6 mdh, but it holds so much more. B/C it doesn't have all the padding. I have added my own padding where I need it. It has an easy access pouch on the back for notes/literature/phone/water bottle. Two separate front pouches that are great for a flash and other camera items. I can't say enough good things about this bag. It's perfect for me, I love having the extra pouches. The Crumplers don't have this. Things are a bit tighter now with the 7D but it seems like it'll work. The Crumpler 3mdh was my perfect bag for the t1i when going to indoor sporting events where I can only bring 1 lens or basically any event where I may be in tight quarters. It's the tiny brown bag. It barely held the t1i body with the 17-55 and closed. With the 7D I really can't close the bag. I need a bigger TINY bag, this is where I need your help. The Lowepro Adventura 170 is for my bag for outdoor sporting events. It is weather proof, very good padding, and inexpensive. I can hold the 7D and the 17-55. And also another lens (think nifty and flash. It's similar to the 5mdh but not as bulky. It has a quick pocket on the outside, which the crumpler doesn't have. It's very cheap and has nice padding inside, I wasn't expecting it, but it's there. The Lowepro Slingshot 350 AW is for big day trips and traveling. It holds my 13.3 Macbook pro like a dream. The laptop has it's own separate chamber, so the camera portion doesn't need to be opened to access the laptop. The photo section is big enough to hold all the gear in my sig, plus some. This bag is big but not huge. It has a waist and chest strap and they connect, so even though it's a sling it's very comfy. It has two large pockets, one is great for personal items and a flash, no problem at all. The other is smaller for remotes and phone, etc. It has a weather poncho. Noteworthy OWNED and SOLD: Crumpler 5 + 6 Million Dollar Homes, too big for what they hold. BAG Reviews, master list!
