It's not a bad pack at all. I used one for a little while but decided that I generally don't like a backpack to carry gear. And that if I do need a backpack then I need one bigger than most of the photo backpack setups.

Other people love backpacks, so it's up to you to decide what you want to use.

Thanks for the response / input. I kinda wanted a small one i could put in a back pack and put other stuff like a jacket in. This one looks kinda small and maybe i can fit it in a backpack but that wont leave much room so its kinda worthless at that point. So I maybe leaning towards wrapping the jacket on the back pack.

This is the other one I was looking at. It fits my lens with out the hood. and that fits in a back pack.
any experience with that one?

BACK FROM THE DEAD!

So at this point I can report back that I did purchase a Domke F3X which is a fantastic bag. FANTASTIC!

I can fit the 7D with 24-105 attached. All of my lens and flash in my sig. Charger, extra battery, personal items. With a LOT of room for accessories or small primes or additional flashes in the pockets. And the crazy part is, this bag is a medium size bag. You can get a LOT more in these domke bags than crumplers.

I need a bag to fit my 7D and 24-105 and a flash. My 3mdh fits it, (flash in front expandable pocket, but it's really tight and a gross fit. And when the strap is on, it's really hard to close.

So I want a small bag that can fit my 7D 24-105 (which is my longest lens) and my flash.

I think the 7d + 24-105 will barely fit in the f5xa, but wanted to ask here first. Prolly no room for a flash.

F5XA
Exterior Dimensions 8.0 x 4.5 x 8.0" (20.32 x 11.43 x 20.32cm) (LxWxD)
Interior Dimensions 7.5 x 4.0 x 7.5"

4MDH
8.66 x 7.87 x 4.72" (22 x 20 x 12cm) (WxHxD)

F-10
Exterior Dimensions 11.5 x 6.0 x 9.0" (29.21 x 15.24 x 22.86cm) (WxDxH)
Interior Dimensions 9.0 x 3.0 x 7.0" (22.86 x 7.62 x 17.78cm) (WxDxH)

Domke F-5XB
Exterior Dimensions 10.5 x 4.5 x 6.5" (WxDxH)
Interior Dimensions 9.5 x 4.0 x 6.0" (WxDxH)

and

F-9
Exterior Dimensions: 8.75W x 6D x 9H
Interior Dimensions: 7"W x 3"D x 7.5"H

looks like a flash could fit in that horizontal pocket.

I'd go with the F5XB for that. Fold the flash and the lens should rest right on it. I've stowed a small body with 24-70 and flash in mine. The F5XA will be a bit too tight.

thanks Jon.

I added the dimensions to the post above yours, for the xB

I am leaning towards the f-10 right now, b/c looking at the exterior dimensions, the f-10 is not much bigger than the other bags, but it has separate exterior pockets which would prolly be nice for a flash and personal items. so it seems to make sense for me.
