Sep 29, 2009 14:55 | #18 I had my first attempt at a SMWYG in the 2009 competition, amazingly - even to me, I had one photo that won an end of month competition, and into the finals...but I lost. Maybe in the overall competition, sure, but personally to me, I really won out. I only stumbled upon the thread, and started contributing...the competition got better and better, and rather than opting out of entering, I pushed myself to take some better photos. Sure, a lot of times you need to be at the right place at the right time, but you still have to take that photograph. It would be absolutely fantastic for this competition to restart up, and to get some great photos out there again...

The LMSYS thread was created by us minions who were addicted to the SMWYG thread to keep us on our toes ready for the up-coming competition....It can only get better  So count me in! My first attempt at SMWYG got me the 2008 title... I never even thought I'd win! I just looked back at the pictures from 2008 and am still floored... stunned... and honored that my image won! I didn't have much time last year to participate, but I would like to try and participate this coming year... Jenn, gone back to novice photographer...

As long as all the good photographers have intermittent PBase, Flickr, Zenfolio, and SmugMug outages. Especially if I have a good photo!
