The flippant answer would be 'about £60'

The Pro 300 DG is the better lens!

Not sure a TC qualifies as a lens. Why do you ask? What lens(es) where you planning on using it with? Have you already tried a 1.4x TC?

I don't see why not, it has glass elements which change the characteristics of the light rays, what else does a lens do?

So a curved mirror is a lens? Hey, this is a lens forum. Let's be careful in the use of the term lens. TCs are not lenses - a very minor point not worth an argument.

A ground or molded piece of glass, plastic, or other transparent material with opposite surfaces either or both of which are curved, by means of which light rays are refracted so that they converge or diverge to form an image.
A combination of two or more such pieces, sometimes with other optical devices such as prisms, used to form an image for viewing or photographing. Also called compound lens .

let's call it an optical element
or optical device

Technically, yes it is a lens. But because we aren't in a physics class, let's not confuse anyone.

Back to the original question, the Pro one has the higher grade optics. It will be a little bit better.

But, I think the question about which lens is relevant. 2x TCs are not suitable for very many lenses.
