She's not a sock, she's a TI (Training Instructor)...aka Drill Sargent.

Good. Mari made it back from her out of town trip today. She's feeling good....she is anxious to know what sex the baby is going to be. Oh and she also found out her company may be going through another round of lay offs. :( Hope she's skipped again.

I hope Mari is skipped also.

I know....but I wouldn't even know it happened.

Yes, but your family would. I saw just enough of a minor fireworks injury to be properly respectful the rest of my life! Hubs got nailed in the arm at one of our shows in Fairfax a number of years ago. Enough that we got a ride in their fancy new ambulance.

There is nothing minor about the injuries ;)
Serious things can happen with fireworks. One year, a Saturn Missile shot was set off by a little boy here...one of the little missiles went parallel to the ground instead of up and struck his sister in the temple. She didn't make it :(

You should see photos of illegal firework processing buildings....or really, photos of what was left of them.

Off to bed, I know it is early, but 5:30 comes way to early. Hope everyone has a wonderful night. See you all tomorrow.

That is very true. We were fortunate that we had the safety training to know that if something didn't sound right, to get the he_ _ out of there asap. The shell exploded but the lift charge didn't....needless to say, the tube that it was sitting in blew apart...that's what hit hubs' arm.

Letterman's a bum, cheating on his wife, then gets higher ratings?? The guy should quit television and beg his wife's forgiveness. Change channels dood, before you become insensitive...

Oh yeah....aerial shells are scary. Especially on a day that is 0% humidity. I tend not to pick those up.

See, they didn't scare me, but I sure had a good respect for them. I didn't love lighting the huge ones either, but the 2-4 inch ones were great fun. I was young and dumb, what can I say?
