Just keep peroxiding and anti-bacterialing it Lisa, you'll be fine. Remember it will get swollen and stiff before it gets better, wait it out.

The story of Lily and Maddie:

Lily and Maddie were found tied to a tree together with no food or water out in the middle of nowhere. The county sheriff took them to the shelter. They were VERY shy and skittish and afraid of everything.
And they looked HORRIBLE. Matted and filthy and stinky.

We took them from the shelter last week to see if we could get border collie rescue to take them. While they were in our Apple Valley facility, a couple out there saw them and fell in love. They've been going over several times a week and interacting with them, playing with them, etc.

They completed the adoption process just this Tuesday, and Lily and Maddie now belong to them. They are a fantastic couple, Wade and I spent quite some time visiting with them in their home.

ANYWAY...

I took the girls to the groomers today, and they'll go to the vet tomorrow to be spayed.

When I picked them up from the groomers, I almost started crying. They looked like 2 different dogs than the ones I dropped off this morning. They are gorgeous.

And they are so incredibly sweet. Very shy, but sweet.

We have them here at our house, and they'll be here till they go home on Saturday morning.

Everyone, meet Maddie (the black one) and Lily (the white face).

aww. Glad to hear that the girls were adopted together.

And we have Cisco here too. He is our new foster. About 1yr old, and a total goof. The girls love him.

He is very cute Cat.

I would do the same for any of our furkids too.

Morning all, we "met" the Pacific Ocean today, and she made quite an impact. HAHAHA! Heather can tell the story, I'd get a kick out of hearing her perspective. She watched the whole thing.:lol:

It was kinda funny to watch. The doodlebunz family had stopped on their way done the steps to take off their shoes. When they got to the last three steps, a wave came up to meet them and soaked all of them from the waist down. At this point, I went down to get Diane's camera, and shot photos of them out on the beach (Diane being as graceful as always)

Back from the doc.

Apparently I have several issues.

The cartilage in my sternum is inflamed and I have a strained rhomboid muscle. So, they're whats giving me the pain while breathing. I've been put on ibuprophin and some steroids to take the inflammation down.

Off to a hot bath.

And, I quoted some stuff....will get to it later.

Ouch. It was nice talking to you today by the way. Feel better soon 'k

sevillafox wrote in post #8835888 (external link)
I'm sure he's gonna get me down nice and slow. I'm just worried I won't be back to normal and will have to go back on.

Awwwwww

Eeeks.

Double eeks.

Gosh I hope not!

Yeah, in like weeks. He said it'll take that long for the muscle strain to heal. And, I'm sure all the painting I have to do next week isn't going to improve the situation.

I have no idea! Apparently he said he sees it a lot this time of year in cross country runners. Me, run, HA!

Off to get the kids even though I'd kill for a nap!

Tiff, what about bribbing some of your students to help?

Funny Hale story.

When they "fix" the dogs, the give us the option to implant an ID microchip in the dog's leg while they're under. We did with Kona, so we did with Hale. While we were in the exam room for the pre-op, the vet asked if I wanted a tattoo on the inside of the leg to indicate that she has a ID chip "on board". Jokingly, I said, "Sure. A butterfly or a dragon would be nice. Nothing too big, but done with class." She laughed and I left for the day.

Fast forward to later in the day.

I went in to pick up a heavily drugged puppy. The tech was telling me all the stuff to do with a post surgery dog. Near the end of the impressive list, she said that I needed to put some Neosporin "there" so help the healing process. At first, I thought she was referring to the incision.

Nope.

Just inside her left thigh, there's a very small butterfly tattoo.

Dang dog has a tat.

That is funny. Glad Hale came though surgery well, and is on the mend.

sigh...I was just giving Calypso her worm pills and she bit my finger to the bone. I cleaned it and am soaking it in alcohol. Sigh. I'm not going to ER for a cat bite. It's not bad but I know they are infectious.

OUCH. Everyone has given the advice so I will give you a hug instead (((LISA))).

Diane and her family are wonderful. We have thoroughly enjoyed the last week. I laughed almost as much as I did with the Oregon trip. I hope that we can get together again soon, as I need to see my new "niece and nephew".

Lisa and Chris - wonderful puppy birthday party photos, I love them.

Kody - great Finley photos

Neil - congrats on the new puppy. Hope all goes well (and for what it is worth, I agree with Cat on Spaying her, but it is your choice)

Good news on the car, Permie. We picked up the Lexus with the repaired back seat, and it was a perfect job. The red ink is only a memory.

I've never heard of whip worms either, but I think I'll have Lois checked. (I'm always reluctant to use 'Lois' and 'whip' in the same sentence.)
