you know....I really don't think I want to be involved in the wedding business anymore. It's SO hard to not get soured on it.

they are nitpicking to death...it's making me crazy.

Permagrin wrote in post #8840540 (external link)
they want to pay nothing and then dictate every shot...tell us how to do our job etc...

Permagrin wrote in post #8840563 (external link)
I'm ONLY doing this because they are my aunt's stepson....

Sometimes, even though it's family, it's time to lay down the "rules." I know my indication would be to tell them that if they don't back off, I walk... You have to decide if the aggravation is worth what they're paying you and worth the discount you gave them.

Sup party people?

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Saturday.

We got to have the fun and exciting experience of being rear ended last night on our way to our friends house. I was trying to be a nice guy and stop for the guy waiting at a cross-walk. It was POURING down rain. Well we got slammed into because of it. Now I get to deal with THAT hassle!

Time to try my hand at stitching another pano!! :)

Never do business with family. It seems to leave hard feelings for everyone.

sigh. I probably shouldn't have said all those things on here. I forget that while I know most of you IRL & you are my friends...other people read this. It wasn't very professional & I know better. I really think I'm stepping away from attempting to do a wedding business. Things like what have happened lately make me feel that running my own business isn't for me. Some people thrive on the challenge. I don't.

KODY redo on the pano helps me understand now what I thought was vinegetting, turned out well, just need to crop the loop-d-loops on the top and bottom. As for Raw processing, that is the beauty of synch in LR. Get the first shot adjusted like you want and synch the rest. I will rate the pano shots with either a color or number, pull only those in using the attributes selection in the grid/library view, and voila develop those separately, then export them into a pano file folder.

BTW, Just got to use this BECKY, thanks a lot! :)

Sounds like I missed something. Either way, Sorry you're feeling that way Lisa. Seeing you step away from a photography business makes me feel like I did when Barry Sanders retired from the NFL too early. :(

Kody, that's so sweet! Especially since I understand and agree with the Barry Sanders disappointment.

I just don't know how to run a business well. I can do the shooting...I'm just not good with people. Photographing them..I'm okay. But up to that point, I'm so weak.

Tiff - how are you feeling today?

Ok. No real pain. Although, I've had these random bouts over the past 7 years or so where I get weird vertigo and just turning my head or standing up can give me major nausea and make me walk crooked. Yeah, apparently it's time for that again. So, a lovely day spent feeling barfy and not being able to move too fast.

No worries permie. Everyone is allowed a little slip up now and then.

Sorry you are frustrated Lisa. Being in business requires one to take charge, set the "rules", ignore the petty stuff, and most importantly not take things personally. You certainly have the photographic talent and vision to stand with the best. It is not for everyone at all, I hope you find your place.

Permie, on another forum someone posted this comment on a post about dealing with a PITA B&G issue. It really made me think about how I try and run my business.

I find the easiest way to deal with this (emotionally) is to remember my business IS NOT ME. It's a separate entity, with separate needs and values. Money may not be my personal #1, but it's my business's #1. Since all of those tactics are trying to deprive my biz of money, my biz gets a weeee bit stubborn and disgusted when they try them.
