^^What Jon said. Mine fell apart a few times. It does still perform well... The nifty is the real "kit" lens. You take the parts and build it yourself

I could get started with some big old rant about how more laws doesn't fix anything.

Yep. I agree with you.

Lonnie, the driving in india is the worst driving in the world, the number of lanes in a road is determined by the width of the vehicles, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the road markings. The majority of the cars fold their wing mirrors in as they are less likely to get knocked off that way. People do not use their mirrors as they rely on the people behind them sounding their horn.

Traffic lights are ignored, roundabouts can be negotiated in either direction and there is no right of way. if one side of a dual carragway is slow people will cross the median and drive the wrong way on the other side.

It is total and complete anarchy, the strangest thing is that for a country where there is no stigma at all attached to being late, in fact people expect it everyone appears to be in a hurry!

So, I would assume there are a lot of pretty serious accidents fairly regularly. I don't know if I'd want to try driving over there.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Having been in India, I wouldn't want to be driving there. Crossing a main road on foot in Mumbai was funny though

There are many, unfortunately on Teresa's second day here we came upon an accident that had just happened where an overloaded Auto Rickshaw was hit by a car on a national road which autos should not even be on. Of the 8 people in the auto 4 were dead and the rest did not look like they would survive.

I have a driver, (but I do ride a bike).

Well if heart stopping fear is your definition of funny then you are 100% correct :-)

Well, on the first days of our trip, we would run like hell to cross the road.. By the time we got to Delhi, we got used to it and crossed walking normally

Really? That's odd. I've had that happen with some frequency. I put in the card into the reader, Lightroom starts up and then I get one of these dialogue boxes up on the screen that say:

"These shots are terrible. I'm not going to waste my time."
"These have been deemed a total waste of disk space. The Import option has been disabled."
"Holy Mackerel! Pick up another hobby before you hurt yourself!"
"Next time, keep the lens cap on. Seriously, it'll improve your game."

I have a tough computer.

I try to ignore those messages on mine!!! I get them too! :p

Zane my guess is a spirit level on the road would "bust" the optical illusion created between the sloping horizon and the road and prove thet the vehicles were in fact moving downhill.

But then of course this is India, where anything is possible. Speaking of which, do they have laws in the US in relation to using a mobile phone whilst driving? Believe it or not they do here too, however they are not always obeyed......

Unfortunately, that's fairly common with "nifty". As long as it'll snap back together, it's all reasonably good. Do you see any sign (under close examination) of a plastic part that might have actually broken? I hear Lab slobber makes a good adhesive for lenses.

I can't get it to snap back together... :( HELP!
