ah thought so you, you would have been hard pushed to get shots like that without one, the fences at Silverstone are particularly photographer friendly. Having one makes such a big difference i was lucky i got one for the European drift championships and Silverstone Classic Grand Prix

nice work buddy,
James

Don't tell the people in the camera forum...
All of these are wicked sharp. Nice focus, look at those eyes!

Hi Patrick

I have a second hand Mark IIN and replaced my 40D with the 7D. I only picked it up late on Friday and shared use on Saturday and Sunday with the IIN.

I didn't have time to experiment much but I used centre point and AI Servo in both bodies. Results were impressive but not as good as IIN. I played with a few settings Saturday night - basically upped the focus sensitivity from medium to medium/high and results on Sunday were not so good, with more OOF on 7D.

As mentioned elsewhere, the auto-focus settings are much more than I have experienced on other cameras so I think it will take a few weeks to get more confidence and better understanding of it. I need to play this week-end before Outlon Park next week.

Better than 40D but not as good as IIN. Colour seems richer on IIN but not checekd if tehy are liek for like.

Sorry it is not very conclusive.......
