This lens is so much more stout than the kit lens (of course, it is about 6 times more expensive). Took it out with me to a local museum and am very pleased with the results. C&C welcome!
Love this pic! Very Nice!

I did a lot of reading up on this lens before purchasing it, has gotten a lot of great reviews the only complaint being the price. Canon T1i : 18-55 IS : 15-85 IS USM : 55-250 IS

You will love it - I purchase this lens after only a few months into having my first DSLR - I wasn't happy with the kit lens and the first picture I took with this was "WOW!" and I am still impressed with that it does. To me LR3 processed them a bit more grainy than DPP did. I have used DPP, LR3 and PS to correct barrell distortion and they all seem to do just as good of job as the other. I haven't had much CA so my experience is limited there. As far as adjusting for lens distortion on every picture, I haven't done that yet. If I have a wide end shot that has straight lines I'll definitely adjust it, but if it looks good without the adjustment I'll leave it. Make sure you update to the latest DPP from Canon's website, I just did it last night and found the version that shipped with my t2i was fairly old. Jim60D wrote in post #11881404 How many of us and/or how often are using the current release of Canon's free Digital Photo Professional to correct for lens aberrations? The EF-S 15-85 has significant barrel distortion at wide angles. I was amazed how DPP's lens aberration correction tool essentially completely removed the barrel distortion. It also did a nice job on chromatic aberration, at least on shots of the ISO 12233 lens resolution chart There are some commercial products that also do lens aberration correction (or plan to do for given camera & EF-S 15-85mm combination) such as DxO I am tempted to use DPP's chromatic abberation and probably the other corrections on a nearly routine basis. Any thoughts about doing this? 7D - Σ30 - EFS 15-85 - EF 100-400L - 430EX II

Still not sure about its landscape potential, as I am a complete newbie, but here's an early shot after returning from the 'Jurassic Coast' Dorset, S. England. DOOR VIEW2 Tweaked
