BlueDemon,
WHile I have a 2008 GTI, which I think looks great, at the same time I think the GTi you have in the photo is by far the best looking Golf/GTi ever made, I just love that shape. I had a 1999 Golf which I kept until 2008, and which I loved dearly. Even when more expensive cars would drive by, I would think why get a more expensive car when I could have a GTI for less money? Plus, the quality of the interior was comparable to a much more expensive car.

Enjoy it for many years to come.

Kind regards,
Dimitri

Shot on X-mas day in the bright sunlight and snow... the 15-85mm is my favorite walk-around lens in Canon's lineup (for crops).

Before i got this lens i invstigated some and saw people complaining about vignetting at the corners. I haven't figured out something like that in my shots. Is it because i got a good copy or i didn't realize the vignetting as a novice?

According tothis test (external link), the lens does vignette. Stopping down helps and its easy to fix in post. I found that shooting at 15mm wide open can be problematic though, so I try to avoid that.

Has anyone here fixed the vignetting with software? And does it work pretty well? I was thinking of buying this lens, but want to be sure I can correct those darkened corners. I have an Xsi, I was browsing through the DPP instructions and see that this lens in combination with the Xsi can be corrected in DPP, just want to be sure it's effective.

I don't understand anything about post processing, but with a software called DxO, it fixes problems automatically, and results are satisfying. Also there's a feature in Canon Body(mine T2i), called Peripheral Illumination correction, it must be correcting it. And DPP also solves the problem, so no need to worry about it.

If you use Lightroom, there's a lens correction profile for the 15-85 that you can use. It works pretty well.

Thanks guys. It's on sale until Jan. 7, so I think I'll pull the trigger in another day or two.
