Really nice! U alway get the lighting down

I bought the 15-85 this week to take advantage of the Canon rebate. Some of the pictures I've taken made the "s" word pop up in the back of my brain, but this one was so sharp I'm thinking any softness is a me problem, not a lens problem. This image lost a fair amount of resolution in the process of compressing it, but you should still be able to get the idea. (I took this right before a nasty snow storm blew through, ack)

Since my two-month-old 60D is away having its AF system recalibrated ( yes, my lenses have all been independently calibrated at some stage; no, five of them can't all be wrong) I borrowed the (properly-calibrated) 400D I sold to my brother and clicked on the 15-85. Reminded me what a fantastic camera the 400D is, and what this lens can do (once it's been properly adjusted...).

Here's my first try at a panorama, taken at the smoky mountains with 4 shots stitched together. I really wish I would have had a CPL filter at the time though.

Yes, about 2 weeks ago, at the base of the mountain it was around 50 in the afternoon, so not too cold.

It's a great pic/pano Brian..it's just too bad about the atmospheric haze. Is that why you were wishing you'd used a CPL"?
