It has the right focal length range for general use and wonderful image quality (and your review was a major factor in convincing me to get one Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

The only lens I took was the 15-85 IS mounted on my 60D. It did everything I wanted from close ups of Moche portrait vases in museums to cathedral ceilings to portraits of Andean people selling wares at local markets. Needless to say it did a superb job at Machu Picchu itself. The only other thing I took was a 430EX flash for fill purposes. The 15-85 is a superb lens! Hugh
