lens creep is (bad)luck of the draw. some people report no signs after over a year of usage.
some people (like me) have had creep from day one.

i sent mine back to get a new one. hopefully the next one will be tighter.

So the lens creep is like russian roulette, either you have it or not?

im guessing after awhile, any 15-85 will get a certain amount of lens creep. But, obviously u wouldnt want to experience on a brand new lens

I've had mine for nearly a year (the lens that stays on the camera 80% of the time), and no lens creep yet.

It doesn't creep unless you're in the 24-55 range. Doesn't really bother me.

Shot last summer, Wiltshire, Uk, where all the corn circles happen.
Anyone know what this plane is, and why it should be wandering around the circles all day long?

The plane is a Hercules, C130, a military plane, and depending where on Salisbury Plain you were it could have been doing a number of things. If you were anywhere near Netheravon (north of Amesbury) it was probably dropping parachutists.

Thanks for that. Just wondered why it has no markings whatsoever?

Patiently waiting for the UPS man to deliver my lens. Sun is slowly drifting down. It will kill me to have to wait until tomorrow to get out with my new lens...

Weather delay or other natural disaster... Come on, they are killing me!!!

Nice. It reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery.

Very atmospheric. It looks cold and cheerless to me.

I can't wait to join this club. 5 or 6 days until I get this lens and my 7D to put it on. THEN we'll see how that combo compares with the 5D/24-105L which has been my walk-around setup for years now.

For what it is worth, here's my thoughts...

1 & 3 are really good, esp #3, nailed that.
#2 Mute the door it dominates when it shouldn't
#4 would be awesome if her eyes ere open, they are closed I would have binned it just for that
5&6 are both overblown for mine, that could be a preference...

Seriously though, #3 is better than any portrait I have ever taken and better than most I have seen, so props :)

Cheers, Len

Just got this lens this weekend to replace my 18-55 kit lens and am loving it! This lens is so much more stout than the kit lens (of course, it is about 6 times more expensive). Took it out with me to a local museum and am very pleased with the results. C&C welcome!
