Well....the weather's horrid (due to two typhoons close by) but still I wanted to get out. And this was the result!
Proof that size does matter - the bigger the bird, the longer the turd! - though I'm so glad I wasn't under it when it let go.

My Uncle Cliff use to tell me you can tell what a bird ate by looking through that whitewash. You didn't by any chance.... No, probably not...

Nice catch. If you've never been hit by this fish milk, you really can't appreciate the actual mess these birds release. Two bits of advice, keep your ears open for their squawk, and if you hear it overhead, don't look up :)

Hey guys, glad to hear/read some humour from you all....and as an extra remark, I was actually waiting for him to launch, wanting to get a BIF shot.

So....with my 100-400 poised, I was watching him, looking for a sign that he would leave the pole. You know, some kind of motion.

And then, he began to bend his legs and arch his neck in a "straining" kinda way!!!!

I felt sure this was the chance I was waiting for.....he was building up tension in those spindly legs of his, about to leap, leap, leap into the air!!!!!!!!!!

But no. He wasn't straining to launch off the pole. Just straining to do...well...you saw the result!

Just goes to show, body language can be mis-read so easily!!!

A lot of birds frequently defecate before taking off, reduces the weight they have to lift I guess, did he take off afterwards :D

LOL! Maybe this is the real reason the big teles are white, and the 1D is "weather" sealed! Can you imagine sending your gear to Canon to be repaired bc it was damaged by bird excrement!

When you see what bird poo does to car paintwork, I dread to think what it would do to a front element
